Cinco de Mayo Party... Better Late Than Never!

29 May 2014

So. I had these big plans of posting our Cinco de Mayo play date the day AFTER it happened... May 6.  Well... Here it is May 29.  Better Late than never.
The cliche "better late than never" holds more meaning to me now more than ever.  We have a very busy household.  Family of six.  A six year old.  A four year old.  Three month old twins.  A father/husband   A mother/wife.  Having so much going on allows for some things to go undone or unfinished or simply forgotten.  For example, craft projects.  I have several craft projects in que.  AJ's Hello Kitty curtains, Matilda Jane knock off tank, cardboard monogram letters for Reagan and Jacks room.  These things will get done.  I promise.  When there is extra time these types of things get done. The same goes for blogging... When there is time it will get done!  Better late than never! So without further ado... Cinco de Mayo play date in a very small nutshell.

Cinco de Mayo Inspriation

29 April 2014

Cinco de Mayo...What a day of fun celebrations!!  I always thought that Cinco de Mayo was Mexico's Independence Day.   It is not!  Wikipedia: " the holiday is called El Día de la Batalla de Puebla (English: The Day of the Battle of Puebla). It originated with Mexican-American communities in the American West as a way to commemorate the cause of freedom and democracy during the first years of the American Civil War  and today the date is observed in the United States as a celebration of Mexican heritage and pride. In the state of Puebla, the date is observed to commemorate the Mexican army's unlikely victory over French forces at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862, under the leadership of General Ignacio Zaragoza Seguín.

Since the birth of our twins, I  try to continue to do as many special things with my 4 and 6 year old as I did before the babies were born.  So, I decided to do a little Cinco de Mayo party/playdate. I hope time allows me to follow through and pull this off.  I have learned in the past two months that not many of my super cute, fun plans are followed through.  My heart is totally in the right place but time is often not on my side.  Anyhoo...I was searching the web for inspiration and found many things that stood out!  I hope to use the following images as inspiration for:

Decorations.

Entertainment.

Food.

Color scheme.

Craft.

It is hard to believe they were one month old last Sunday.  Time is flying already!

Party of Six...Paging Barcelona...Party of Six

17 February 2014

It has been a very long time since my last post.  It's true...I am an inconsistent blogger.  I do my best to keep up.  Typically there is a lapse from blog post to blog post due of lack of time.  Being a momma of two girls ages 3 and 5 keeps you busy.  However, this last lapse was due to me being pregnant...with TWINS!  The past 7-8 months have been full of fun, surprises, sickness and lots of midwife appointments and ultra sounds.  The twins will be coming within the next week or so.  I am so excited and cannot wait for their arrival!  We will be going from a party of 4 to a party of 6!  Party of 6...Has a ring to it!  I am also looking forward to getting back on the blogging band wagon and opening my etsy shop:  www.partypaperscissors.etsy.com again.  Until then...I will leave you with a few pictures of our gender reveal party.  The party was very simple, casual and not overdone...We kept it simple.  I didn't get pictures of all of the cute details but here are a few that I did get.  Oh!  And do you have twins?  Want to share some advise?  Please feel free to leave a comment!
